“Why are we blogging?”
It is an interesting question. It’s no mystery that corporate blogs can be a dangerous thing. There are the natural concerns about the blog being too corporate or not corporate enough. There are the concerns about posting things that might be useful to our competitors. There are the concerns about the liabilities that might come from having something posted on a blog about a project. I can go on and on about the potential negatives.
We appreciate all the risk factors and understand them. We have to be careful about what we post for a bunch of reasons. What I will tell you is that we are not going to be too cautious. The risk is there, but it’s worth it. We’ll manage that risk on our end while making sure we are getting our point across.
If Geniant wants to continue to grow, we have to make sure that we are effectively communicating to you what it is we are the best in the world at. We have to be able to publish our successes in a way you can understand and map back to your own challenges so that you can feel comfortable and confident in picking up the phone to call us. We can come in with a sales guy like me and present you some slides or even a software demonstration, but if we can provide real-world scenarios with a bit about how we helped our customer in those scenarios, it’s 10X more resonant with you. We know that. It’s not marketing necessarily and it’s certainly not slide ware.
Growth for a firm like ours requires that we are attracting more of the best and brightest people in the industry. This blog is intended to provide potential Geniant Partners with a little background information on what we are all about. These people want to know that we are working on impactful and interesting projects and that we are solving complex challenges for our customers in creative ways.
As my colleague Keith Jacobs put it, “For Geniant, a blog is an easy, lightweight channel for the world to access our experiences, our approach, and our vision for our clients to decide quickly whether we’re a good choice as a consultant for that critical project or as an employer for that next career step.” I couldn’t have put it any better.
Please enjoy the Geniant Sandbox. We would like for you to visit us often or even add us to your RSS Feed list.
Congrats on launching your weblog. Doing “dangerous things” and taking chances is what our business is about and it’s good to see you guys doing this. Best of luck and keep the dangerous things coming.
Mighty proud of you lot!
